In mid-1990, Hoe Heng ventured into Medium Density Fibreboard (MDF) and Particleboard industries by providing repair and maintenance work and focusing mainly on the debarking and chipping line. The first debarking line was fabricated and supplied in 2003 to Segamat Panel and subsequently the second drum debarker was produced in 2005 for Dongwha Malaysia (formally known as Guthrie MDF).
In 1992, Mr. David Teng Weng Cheong, the son of Mr. Teng Ching Ching completed his education and joined this big family as an apprentice in the engineering department. In 1994, Hoe Heng started to erect new building in Mergong Industries Area and by 1996 it moved its operation to the new premises.
